Aaand we're done...?


Well, kinda. My friends have been helping me bug test the final script. And oh, there are bugs... but also upcoming features!

So a word of warning: I have been trying to get persistent variables in renpy to update, but I've failed every time. This means any new update to the unlocks will either wipe your unlocks or cause your old save files to have issues, particularly when unlocking titles.

I... think the game is short enough to where you can willingly wipe your save data and then mash "Skip" on a new file (mark the option "Unseen Text" to true) to get back to where you were pretty easily. I hate that that's the solution, but it's better than the whole game going up in flames and losing hours of unskippable progress, I guess.

A (big?) feature being added is the date system! The story will show the current date in the corner. So if you find yourself having to start from scratch, know that you can basically mash Skip (Unseen Text) until 10/29 to catch up to where this current demo is. You will be stopped at that choice, so let it zooooom.

I still have mixed feelings about uploading the full game to itch where, for all I know, all of the traffic is AI bots... but there's a part of me that thinks maybe someone will eventually want to leave a comment, and itch is the only place I can think of where comments can live. Someone besides the friendly people from whom I specifically asked for feedback. 😅

When it's all done and I can stop obsessing over this, I'd be happy to do more feedback trades with other VN writers. Thank you to Alex Coldfire for trading VN playthroughs and leaving such an in-depth comment. 🥰 I want to read some other personal VNs like this and just get a feel for the kinds of stories people wanna tell.

The final release is being held up by art (it always is), but if you want to help test the script (or if you just want spoilers), ask away.
